Miyuki is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and is passionate about supporting her patient’s recovery process from the most vulnerable stages to one of full health. That passion led her to attain a full certification of the Vodder Method of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT).
MLD is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that stretches the skin in specific directions to increase lymphatic flow. MLD can assists the body to heal more quickly from injuries by removing swellings, harmful substances, scar tissue and pain-causing chemicals. It is gentle enough to be used immediately after an injury and the pre-and post surgery period. It is also effective for a variety of conditions such as lymphedema and nasal congestion from seasonal allergies. For additional conditions where MLD may be utilized please see: Dr. Vodder School International.
Miyuki is sensitive to the various stages in the healing process and the needs of her patients. Depending on those needs she uses a variety of techniques such as Manual lymph drainage, myofascial release, GTO release, joint mobilization, neuro muscular technique, muscle energy technique, dynamic release, and Swedish massage as appropriate for the condition being treated.
When she is not working, she loves hiking on local mountains.
